Are there other uses for a fragrance other than application to the body?
You can put a few drops of your favorite fragrance in a bath or a few drops in the water when washing your lingerie or spray on artificial flowers.

Are there rules as to how to use which perfume when?
Yes. A perfume should never be allowed to overpower its surroundings. Less is always more appropriate than more. During the day, and summer months try the lighter fragrances where as evenings and winter lend themselves to heavier fragrances. Plan on having a range of fragrances that might include a sexy oriental, a sophisticated multi-floral, a fresh green, a delicious fruity type, a single flower fragrance or simple bouquet for lighter occasions. After all we all choose different clothes and accessories dependent on the time of day, time of year and occasion so why should we not apply this to the fragrance we choose.

Can a perfume influence mood?
Certainly. The perfume you choose should be the ideal extension of your personality and the mood you are in. Fragrances can also change your mood. So if you are in a temper or depressed it is nice to be able to select from your collection one that will either calm you down or lift your spirits!

Can you grade perfume according to strength?
From strongest to weakest: Perfume, Eau De Parfum, Eau De Toilette and Eau De Cologne, After Shave being the weakest with the least amount of oils in the fragrance. The higher the concentration of oils the longer your fragrance will last.

Does perfume need special handling?
Fragrances should be kept away from excessive heat or cold, and to avoid evaporation, the cap must be tightly closed to maintain fragrance integrity. Also, do not expose the fragrance for any length of time to sun light.

How can I keep my fragrance from going bad?
Keep all fragrance in a cool, dry area, and away from windows as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients. An opened bottle should be kept in its box to insure a longer shelf life.

How can I make my scent last longer?
Fragrance lasts longer on some people than on others because of differences in our skin (oily or dry) and in our PH levels. To achieve a longer effect, try layering your fragrance. Using the fragrance bath gel, (if the company offers one), then the moisturizer or powder, and then the Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum or Eau de Cologne, will usually have a longer lasting effect. Also, apply your fragrance low on the body, as well as behind your ears and on your neck, so that the scent rises and you won\'t lose it as quickly. A light spray on the hair can last all day.

How can you sell fragrances for so much less?
We buy and sell in volume with lower markups and pass those savings on to you the customer.

How do I test a fragrance?
Every skin reacts differently so it is best to test a fragrance on your own skin rather than on a sales assistant or a spray card. Do not rub the fragrance, as this will only bruise or smudge their effect. Let the fragrance settle and dry a little before you smell each one. Three fragrances will be about as many as you can take without confusing your nose and getting mixed up in your mind.

How long can I keep my fragrance stored?
Fragrances don\'t last forever. There are certain precautions though that will ensure the quality of the fragrance. Keep the bottle in a dry, dark place. Heat can also destroy a fragrance so keep it from extreme temperatures. Fragrances usually last 3 years from the date they were manufactured.

How long will a fragrance last on me?
Fragrances are designed to last about 4 hours or so. Some people may notice that a particular fragrance lasts all day but by then it will not smell as it\'s supposed to. You must re-apply once or twice a day.

How should I or where should I apply fragrance?
Fragrance should be applied to pulse points. This is where the blood vessels are closest to the skin giving off more heat and acting like mini fragrance pumps. Pulse points are the wrist, behind the ear, crook of the arm and knee, base of the throat. Also, for long lasting fragrance spray at the ankles, it allows the fragrance to blossom up.

Is it important to change fragrances according to the different seasons of the year?
Yes, since heat increases the intensity of a fragrance. There are certain fragrances that are more appropriate for summer and other stronger cents that would be better for winter use. A good guideline to follow is to wear lighter scents in the summer and stronger in the winter. Citrus scents are perfect for summer while oriental ones are better for winter.

Should I use a splash or a spray?
This is very much down to personal preference. There is no difference in the fragrance, but some people may find a spray less wasteful as you do not end up with as much fragrance on your hands or fingers.

What are fragrance notes?
Fragrances are made up of different notes and can be composed of a thousand different ingredients to make every fragrance creation an individual one. There are three different notes. Top notes, the first ones you smell are very volatile and strong, but will shortly fade and give way to the middle notes and the heart of the fragrance. Later, the bottom notes will emerge to give an indication of a depth and strength of the fragrance.

What are the differences between After Shave Lotion, After Shave Gel, and After Shave Balm?
After Shave Lotion will usually sting as well as help close the pores after shaving. After Shave Balm is actually soothing to the skin. After Shave Gel also soothes the skin, but cools the skin as well and relieves razor burn.

What do fragrance notes refer to?
Fragrances are comprised of many different scents, these scents are called \"notes.\" ?Top notes are very light and last just a few minutes (5-10 minutes). ?Middle notes become apparent in about 15 minutes after application. These can last up to an hour or more. ?Bottom notes are the heavier ingredients. These last the longest, usually for several hours. How can I keep my fragrance from going bad? Keep all fragrance in a cool, dry area, and away from windows as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients. An opened bottle should be kept in its box to insure a longer shelf life.

What is shower gel?
Shower gel is soap in a different form. It is made for use by both men and women, foams up well and leaves your chosen fragrance on the skin. It then enhances your cologne or perfume and the fragrance will last much longer.

What is the difference between a splash and a spray?
There is absolutely no difference in the fragrance. The difference is in the application only. However, a spray bottle, being ostensibly sealed all the time, may actually have a longer shelf life. Making the decision between spray and splash is entirely a matter of personal preference.

What is the difference between Perfume, Eau de Parfum (EDP), Eau de Toilette (EDT), and Eau de Cologne (EDC)?
The differences are simply a matter of the amount or concentration of oils in the fragrance. These oils are called \"juice.\" The highest concentration of \"juice\" is in perfume (or parfum). Next would be Eau de Parfum, then Eau de Toilette, and finally Eau de Cologne. Actually, Eau de Toilette and Eau de Cologne are generally interchangeable, particularly in Men\'s fragrances. After Shave has the least amount of oils. The higher the concentration of \"juice\" the longer your fragrance will last, and the less you need to apply.

What is the shelf life of a fragrance?
On average, the shelf life of a fragrance is 3-5 years. Where possible fragrances should be kept cool and dry and out of direct sunlight. Ideally, opened bottles will last longer if they are kept in a box.

Why do fragrances smell differently on different people?
Body chemistry, diet and age affect fragrances on their skin. Also, fragrance consists of many essential oils. Certain essential oils have affinity to our skin, and they may be absorbed while other may not. This creates an imbalance on the skin and accounts for the difference.

Why do some fragrances seem to last much longer than others?
People with dry skin usually find their fragrance holding time shorter than those with oily skin because oily skin has more natural moisture to hold in the fragrance. PH levels (amount of acidity in our skin) also varies slightly from person to person. Our individual levels of PH will determine how each ingredient in a fragrance will react.

Why do some fragrances smell and last differently on different people?
This depends on a person\'s skin type. Natural moisture in the skin will retain the fragrance for longer, so people with dry skin will find that fragrances will not tend to hold as well. The amount of acidity in our skin varies from person to person so fragrances will react accordingly, sometimes seeming to make the fragrance smell differently. It is a case of trial and error to find the fragrance to suit both you and your skin!

Why do some men wear Cologne, and others prefer to wear After Shave?
Cologne\'s fragrance will generally last much longer than After Shave. However, many men choose to wear both. The fragrance lasts longer, you can use less of each, and you get the facial benefit of an After Shave.

Why does a fragrance last longer on some people?
Blondes or people with light skin have a tendency towards dry skin, and fragrances are basically oils that will be absorbed by the skin like moisturizers. To help your fragrance last longer use a matching body lotion or unscented body lotion to apply to pulse points before applying your fragrance.

Why does fragrance contain alcohol?
Alcohol makes the fragrance emanate from your skin. Without alcohol, you would be the only person who knew you were wearing any fragrance at all.
